The mission of the Société nationale de l’Acadie (SNA) is “to promote the interests of the Acadian people, particularly of the Atlantic”.
The Société Nationale de l’Acadie began in 1881 during the first Acadian convention in Memramcook, New Brunswick.
The Société Nationale de l’Acadie includes the four francophone associations that represent the Atlantic provinces, as well as the four youth associations. It also has affiliate members.
